Secrets of the Psyche is a provocative collection of visual art works in a variety of mediums.  Roseanne Fox’s colorfully irreverent assemblages transcend kitschy to become spiritual. David McCauley’s soulful charcoal figure drawings and paintings evoke interior worlds and Skye MacLeod’s whimsically dramatic mixed-media and encaustic works weave fairytale prophecies through the language of animals. David McCauley - Artist Statement

Through the use of acrylic paint, graphite, charcoal, and mixed media, I capture an aspect of my subject that takes me to an inward place. Looking deeply at the work, an interior buzz - like being between two worlds develops, and shifting emotional shadings emerge. From this intersection, come questions of stories untold, conveyed by eye. Where eyes are not explicitly represented in my work, the portal to other worlds still exists. It is said, “The eyes are the windows to the soul.” Those unafraid to look and contemplate the view will find that place where they recognize the mystery of their humanity.

Secrets of the Psyche Art Show

Skye MacLeod - Artist Statement

I speak animal. Not in a bark-bark-meow-meow way (though I've got a solid purrr); animals are my language. My ideas, thoughts and experiences are expressed through animal symbolism. I believe animals are a reflection of our true nature.

I draw energy. My line is an expression of the past, present and future; full of intention and experience. I invite color; an invitation to jump into my subconscious.

These elements come together as a fairytale prophecy or an acknowledgement of exchange.

Roseanne Fox- Artist Statement

My artwork exposes the longings of the heart, the cycles of life and death and the creative and destructive forces of nature.

I love to work with found objects;old toys, weathered boxes, scraps of this and pieces of that. I love them not because they are antique or trendy. I love them because they illustrate the wear and tear that happens to all of us from living a full and rich life. The end result is an object that has more character and original beauty because of its unique experiences.

There is also an element of paradox in my artwork. On the one hand there is an awe and respect for
everything as sacred and on the other hand there is a playfulness and irreverence.
